Join the IHC Sisterhood for a meaningful evening of connection, reflection, and action as we celebrate Sukkot through the lens of breast cancer awareness.
Under the canopy of the Sukkah, we find the strength of community.
Our evening will integrate the Sukkot themes of fragility and shelter with breast cancer support. We will transition from the outdoor Sukkah to the Social Hall, sharing an intentional evening of connection, insight, and a supportive community dinner.
Rituals in the Sukkah
We will begin with a unique Link Ceremony, where guests write names or words of strength on pink paper strips to form a literal sharsharet (chain) over the entrance. We will also share a short intention connecting the four species to the body, followed by a mindful procession inside for cocktails and appetizers.
Pink Kiddush Dinner
An elegant, health-forward menu in the Social Hall features autumnal superfoods. The meal includes roasted beet hummus with pomegranate seeds, and an entrée of lemon-herb roasted salmon, cherry-balsamic glazed chicken, or stuffed butternut squash.
Ushpizot Panel & Dessert
During dessert—featuring raspberry sorbet with dark chocolate truffles—we will host our moderated panel. Featuring a Sharsheret representative, a medical professional, and a community survivor, the discussion will explore Jewish heritage, BRCA awareness, and proactive screening in an intimate, conversational setting.
About Sharsharet
Sharsheret, a Jewish not-for-profit organization, provides personalized support, lifesaving education, financial assistance and genetic counseling to empower those faced with or at increased genetic risk of breast cancer and ovarian cancer.
